Billionaire Elon Musk calls for a “dissolution of parliament” and a “change of government” in the UK, speaking online at a far-right event in London.

“I really think there has to be a change of government in the UK. We can’t wait another four years, or until the next election, that’s too long. We need to dissolve parliament and have a new vote,” Elon Musk said online to hundreds of thousands of people attending the “Unite the Kingdom” march in London on September 13, organized by far-right activist Tommy Robinson.

Musk criticized the left for supporting violence, citing the murder of American conservative activist Charlie Kirk and “many people on the left openly celebrating.”

Musk said that was the reality his supporters faced, then issued a warning message that “violence is coming to you, whether you choose to be violent or not. Fight back, or you die.”

He believes that the majority of British people are choosing to stay silent and not get involved in politics. “I would urge the British people to use common sense: look around and ask themselves, ‘If this continues, what kind of world are we going to live in?'” Musk said.

The September 13 march, organized by British far-right activist Tommy Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, attracted more than 100,000 people, according to police estimates. It was one of the biggest nationalist events in the UK in decades, with slogans about defending free speech and many messages about tightening immigration controls.

About 5,000 anti-rightists staged a counter-protest, calling the event the “Anti-Fascist March.” London police deployed more than 1,000 officers, using hard hats and riot shields, to keep the two sides from clashing. At least nine people were arrested after clashes at the edge of the crowd.

Elon Musk has been outspoken about his views on British politics. He has attacked the UK’s 2023 Online Safety Act, saying it threatens freedom of speech. He has also repeatedly criticized the UK government for what he believes is a lenient policy on migrant sex offenders.

In August 2024, Musk said Britain was “unlikely to be heading for civil war,” responding to a post that blamed the wave of riots across the UK on immigration and the government’s open-border policy. The UK government issued a statement calling the claim “baseless.”
