Houston– An unbelievable news has just been confirmed that will shake Minute Maid Park: Astros legend Alan Ashby – the “heart” of home plate in the late 20th century and a familiar voice in the MLB radio booth – will officially return to the lineup as the main announcer and baseball strategy advisor. This is the first time in nearly a decade that Ashby has returned to an important role in the Astros organization.
Ashby, born in 1951 in Long Beach, California, was with the Astros for 11 seasons (1979–1989), becoming one of the best catchers in the history of the team.
