The Tennessee Titans parted ways with veteran wide receiver Tyler Lockett on Monday. CBS Sports NFL writer Jordan Dajani thinks the Patriots would be a good landing spot for Lockett.

“Mike Vrabel just won his revenge game against the Titans, and now could pick up a discarded weapon Tennessee wasn’t too interested in using,” Dajani wrote on Monday. “The New England Patriots wide receiving corps is not as bad as many believed it would be entering this season.

“Stefon Diggs has 456 yards receiving, Kayshon Boutte has emerged as a WR2, and then Mack Hollins and DeMario Douglas have been sprinkled in effectively as well. New England’s passing attack now ranks No. 9 in the NFL (239 yards per game). Lockett could be another pass-catcher that helps Drake Maye gear up for his MVP run.”

Lockett is in his 11th NFL season, recording 8,664 receiving yards and 61 touchdowns in 168 games.

The 33-year-old receiver may not be the player he once was, but the Patriots could benefit from bringing him on board.

If New England signs Lockett to fill its receiver void, then it could use its draft capital to trade for a running back or defensive help.
